Hey, all good?
I'm Marcelo, I've been working with software development since 2011, and I've seen/done almost everything in the field.
I've seen good code, I've seen terrible code, I've seen pull requests with five changes and 10 comments, and I've also seen pull requests with 1000 changes and a simple LGTM 👍. I've worked at tiny companies, at big ones, at startups that went all the way to IPO, and at startups that aren't around anymore.
I've stayed up until dawn to deliver things that didn't matter anymore the next morning, I've had nine-hour meetings in a row, I've worked on call during Black Friday, I've delayed sprints, I've estimated incorrectly, I've said it wouldn't be possible to deliver—and it really wasn't.
Thanks to this field, I got to know people from Minas, Rio, São Paulo, Rio Grande do Sul, as well as Colombians, Americans, Indians, Ukrainians, Germans, Portuguese, Italians, English, and French. I've also worked with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Styled Components, Tailwind CSS, Svelte, NestJS, Next.js, Design Systems, Figma, Python, Django, Elixir, Phoenix, Phoenix LiveView, Kafka, Postgres, ArangoDB, AWS, GCP and microservices.
My specialty is delivering projects and solving problems, and I'm really good at it. I'm a team player, versatile—I do frontend, backend, lead teams, ask, question, answer, track down whoever has the answers, I have opinions, I speak up when it's bad and when it's good (but always politely), I listen, I agree, I disagree, I complain—I adapt easily to people, businesses, and technologies. I take serious things seriously and I work remotely.
I deliver results, fix the mess, and launch new products. I can work alone, join your team, or build a team that will help you now and in the future.
